Back by popular demand, on Sunday, 9 June 2024, we are hosting an interfaith picnic and gathering for Great Big Green Week.
Last year we collaborated with St John’s Waterloo and the Brahma Kumari to host a family-friendly interfaith event that included an outdoor picnic and an Eco Festival. After the success of this event, we’re hosting a bigger one this year to kick off the Great Big Green Week.
Eco Festival 2023
This year, the event will take place from 1.00pm – 4.00pm and will be held at St John’s Church, Waterloo , 73 Waterloo Road, London, SE1 8TY.
1.00pm – Outdoor picnic and family friendly activities
Bring a plant-based picnic, a blanket, and find a spot in the beautiful St John’s churchyard. Based on this year’s Great Big Green Week’s theme of ‘swaps’, there will be fun stalls and hubs – for clothes and toys, the Big Bank Switch, cupcakes, and plants for your garden.
2.30 pm: Entertainment
With our special musical guests, inside the newly refurbished, award-winning church space. Featuring Habiba Ahmad, Jess Hall, Holy Swans and the MTO Zendeh Delan Ensemble. Come for a taste of Islamic nasheed, modern English folk, Punjabi bhangra and Sufi devotional music.

About the Great Big Green Week
The #GreatBigGreenWeek is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of action to tackle climate change and protect nature. Between 8 and 16 June, communities, schools, businesses, and faith communities will join together in a wave of support for action to protect the planet.
By taking action together at the same time in every corner of the country, politicians will be unable to ignore that their constituents care about tackling climate change and protecting nature.
The Great Big Green Week will show that people across the UK are making swaps every day to help create a better tomorrow. As the UK heads towards a general election on 4 July, we urgently need politicians to step up and play their part.
