Gallery: Faiths at Global Day of Action 2025
On Saturday, 15 November 2025, we joined thousands upon thousands worldwide for the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice. The action opposite Downing Street coincided with the UN climate conference COP30 in Brazil. Our voices united with calls for climate justice for the global majority, especially to those at the frontlines of climate breakdown, genocide, and ecocide.
Our faith bloc had friends and followers of all faiths coming together as a collective. In a full circle moment, we were joined by members of the ecumenical Christian Pilgrimage to Paris, a group who took a 200-mile journey from London to Paris back in 2015 to call on world leaders to agree a fair, ambitious and binding climate deal at COP21.
Our Faith for the Climate co-founder and chair, Canon Giles Goddard, was part of this pilgrimage, and the goodwill and momentum that sprang from the historic Paris Agreement convinced Giles that there was untapped potential for greater collaboration amongst people of all faiths in the UK to focus on climate justice. The 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement and the Pilgrimage to Paris therefore also marked the beginnings of Faith for the Climate.
That we were able to reunite after a decade was undeniably lovely but the circumstances for this reunion remain shocking – we are still calling for political will and real delivery from governments. We continue to speak truth to power and for UK faith groups to continue addressing the root causes of the climate and nature crises – extractivism, capitalism, consumerism, and colonialism. Wherever you are in the UK and whatever your faith tradition or spiritual background is, you can uphold climate justice at COP30 with prayer, meditation, words, and action. Our COP30 and Inter Faith Week page lists more faith-inspired events taking place around COP30.
